English is clearly the language of international communication on many levels. Among the big ten of world languages, English, as an official language, ranks second with 415 million speakers in 12 countries, after Mandarin Chinese with some 800 million speakers and ahead of Russian with 282 million, Spanish, Arabic, and German. English is the most widely used language geographically and for about 400 million educated persons around the world, English is their second language. Several hundred million have some knowledge of English, including most of the world's leaders as English is essential for interviews on global television. Further, English has become the global language of science and technology and the main language of computers.

 There are for skills in this subject, speaking, reading, writing dan listening that supported by several components of english, there are grammar, vocabulary, fluency, pronunciation. In a rapidly globalizing society, the importance of communication skills in English, the international common language, continues to grow. Being able to communicate in English is not limited to a specific occupation or region, and is required in a variety of situations throughout your life, expanding your possibilities in life. Based on this social background, the government is promoting English education reform.
